In 2007 and 2008, Boston-based cartoonist and illustrator Kyle David Lindholm traveled to Afghanistan in order to record a country at war. His work on the subject captures glimpses of life beyond the front lines of the US occupation in cities like Kabul and Jalalabad. The Afghanistan Drawings Series is currently being shown throughout New England in public libraries, galleries, and community venues.

Lindholm continues to work in conflict regions, most recently in conducting a graphic report on the Nogales Border on the northern Border of Sonora and southern Arizona for his blog Hand Drawn Dispatches.

Lindholm holds a MA in Critical and Creative Thinking from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a BFA in Works on Paper from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He currently lives in Boston, MA and teaches drawing and illustration in Boston, MA.
